A printed circuit board or PCB makes a permanent connection between the components through a copper strip passed ion a glass epoxy sheet. PCB can be made in home with very few tools. Creating a PCB is as simple as imposing a designed circuit into it and removing the excess copper from it.

5.Types of PCB

PCBs can be classified into two basic types. Single layer and multilayer. As the name suggests the single layer has only a single layer that connects the components together. There are prototyping PCB with copper dots and standard hole to build a semi-permanent circuit. Multiple layer PCBs has two or more copper layers that is insulated from each other but connected through links that can connect complex circuits.

6.Designing the PCB

PCBs can be designed using Computer Aided Design software. These CAD systems allow the designer to visually plot the copper traces that connects the leads of the components. There are many design tools available to design a professional PCB. PCB design tools generate a universally accepted file that a manufacturer can use to produce the designed PCB.
