The PCBA falls under the category of PCB electrical prototyping. It is an important part of printed circuit board design.There are various stages involved in this process which are necessary and need to be monitored well. A high level monitoring ensures each task involved in stages is accomplished perfectly. This allows for quality board design. The different stages are defined below. Here the assumption is taken that surface mount components are utilized. This is because virtually all PCB technology nowadays uses surface mount components for effective.
Here are stages of PCBA
A.Solder Paste: Before components are added to the board, the solder board is necessarily added to several areas of board. These areas are component pads and they actually require solder paste. Solder screen is utilized for accomplishing this task.Using the solder screen, a runner is moved across the screen. It squeezes a little of solder paste through holes in screen and on the board. The runner has holes on solder pads locations. This ensures that solder paste is deposited on solder pads.
B.Pick and Place:Pick Place Stage: The Pick Place stage of PCBA utilizes the machine that has reels of components in it. The machine places components from its reels on correct positions of board. The components that have been placed on board stay put due to tension of solder paste. This tension of solder paste is sufficient to hold the components provided the board is not pushed abruptly. If the board is pushed abruptly, it might be bad for quality board design.
C.Soldering: Now that the components are on the board, the next stage is of soldering process. In this stage of PCBA, the board is passed through Soldering machine.
D.Inspection:After the board has gone through stage of soldering, the inspection stage of board design comes. It is worth noting that inspection is done through machines to locate poor joints or similar problems. Manual inspection of hundreds of boards is not possible.
E.Test: Further testing is required for finished products before they leave the industry. There are various strategies or methods for effective testing.
F.Feedback: Feedback is necessary for PCBA process for proper manufacturing of products. The outputs are monitored by investigating any of detected failures. An effective feedback leads to effective board design.
