Coax Cable Assemblies for Signal Routing and Shielding
Cable assemblies route RF signals between antennas, test ports and PCB modules using impedance-matched coaxial cable and GHz-rated connectors across telecom, defense, and microwave systems.
These assemblies provide shielding integrity, mechanical strain relief and consistent electrical performance across a wide range of RF applications.
WellPCB manufactures custom coax cable assemblies based on client-supplied schematics, cut-length charts, and connector pinouts.
Each assembly is stripped, terminated, and fixture-assembled with specified coaxial cable types, orientation and matched electrical characteristics.
We use flamerated jackets, EMI shielding with a rating of up to 95 dB, and RF connector systems that are qualified for vibration, mating cycles and GHz-range transmission.

Our Coax Cable Assembly Capabilities
WellPCB manufactures coax cable assemblies with process-level control, matched-impedance construction, and RF validation for both prototypes and volume production.
Each build is configured using defined coaxial cable types, certified connector types and GHz-rated shielding systems, all of which are aligned with IPC-620 Class 3 and ISO 9001 process requirements.
These capabilities form the basis of every WellPCB coax assembly, from prototype builds to fully documented, production verified runs.
WellPCB builds coaxial cable assemblies with defined 50-ohm and 75-ohm impedance using verified conductor geometry, connector transitions and shielding layouts.
Each coax cable assembly is validated for VSWR, insertion loss, and group delay using network analysis across the full range of RF frequencies.
Supported types include RG58, RG174, and foam-core coaxial cable types built to maintain signal stability in test equipment and telecom routing.
We produce flexible cable, semi-rigid cable assemblies, and hand formable cable assemblies with outer diameters (ODs) ranging from 0.020” to 0.500” (0.51 mm to 12.70 mm), rated for continuous operation up to 392 °F (200 °C).
These cable assemblies use PE, FEP or PVC jackets and support single or double shielding for EMI protection.
Terminated to SMA, BNC, RP-SMA, or smb connectors, they support tight routing, repeated flexing and shaped coax paths in consumer electronics and test and measurement systems.
WellPCB builds high frequency RF cable assemblies for operation up to 40 GHz, using matched coax structures and low reactance connector pairs.
Each build undergoes insertion loss mapping across the full GHz band and return loss analysis by connector family. Supported terminations include SMA to mhf4, RP-SMA, and 7-16 DIN, all paired with low drift dielectric and jacketed routing.
These assemblies are designed for use with RF analyzers, phased antennas and microwave systems.
Terminations include SMA, RP-SMA, SMB, BNC, MMCX, TNC, Fakra and NMO mounts, available in right angle, bulkhead, or straight profiles.
The N-type connector, originally developed at AT&T Bell Labs, remains a supported option for high durability, outdoor rated assemblies.
Each RF connector is installed using calibrated crimp dies or thermal solder methods, depending on the contact structure and shielding termination path.
All cable assemblies are tested for continuity, mating force and signal isolation. Specialized builds are supported for GPS, CAN bus, and radio frequency I/O ports.
We provide low loss builds using foam PE, PTFE or air dielectric tuned for phase and velocity control.
All dielectric materials are qualified to operate within ±2% impedance variation and are selected based on the required GHz range and power loading.
These systems reduce attenuation in long-run custom coaxial cable assemblies and maintain signal shape in analog pulse systems and RF and microwave routing environments where dielectric loss is a concern.
Assemblies are constructed with single, double, or triple shielding, achieving >95 dB effectiveness, depending on system sensitivity and external EMI risk.
Shield designs include braid-only, foil wrapped, and quad layer structures using copper or aluminum for GHz-range rejection.
WellPCB integrates sealed backshells, waterproof boots and gel-filled jackets into assemblies designed for microwave cable assemblies, outdoor telecom nodes and aerospace RF enclosures.
Each build is tested for shielding effectiveness using swept-frequency EMI scans across the full range of radio frequencies (RF).
All custom cable assemblies are manufactured under IPC-620 Class 3 standards with ISO 9001 process control.
Each coax cable assembly is 100% inspected for continuity, impedance trace plots and mechanical compliance.
Certified operators complete every unit using documented press tooling and calibrated solder stations, with connector validation aligned to IEEE 287.1-2021 for precision RF interfaces.
We support both low quantity and high volume cable assembly options, with lead times as short as 2 weeks for pilot runs.
Every part number is archived for repeat orders, including connector pinouts, cable cut lengths, shield types, and dielectric information.
Whether you need standard cable assemblies or fully engineered custom RF cable assemblies, builds are staged, labeled, serialized and verified before delivery. All assemblies are built and shipped with matching quality assurance (QA) reports.

Client Feedback On Our Automotive Wiring Harnesses
As an R&D manager, I have had an outstanding experience working with WELL-PCB. For many years, our company has entrusted them with the production, assembly, and programming of the boards developed in our R&D unit, and they have consistently exceeded our expectations.
Hamid Reza Moshayedi
R&D Manager
Their work is very impressively perfect. Today, when they check our company PCB board after assemble. They found a fake short point which many engineers has never found in the past years. But that is just designed so. The PCB board quality is excellent. Their service is also excellent.
MikeZ
My friend introduced WellPCB to me, the first try, a little look forward to. I ordered a 47*72 10ps PCB, and I can’t wait to receive my PCB. So I used expedited service and received my PCB in three days. I tested and soldered the PCB, Quality is really good, silkscreen, plating also great.

Coax Cable Assemblies FAQs
What is a coaxial cable?
A coaxial cable is a multi-layered transmission line consisting of a center conductor, a dielectric insulator, a shield layer and an outer jacket.
The signal travels through the inner core while the shield prevents electromagnetic interference from affecting performance. Coaxial designs are used in radio frequency systems that require consistent impedance and reduced signal loss across defined routing paths.
What types of connectors are used with coaxial cables?
Coaxial cables are terminated with connector types including SMA, BNC, SMB, MMCX, RP-SMA, and NMO mount, as well as TNC, F-type and DIN variations.
Each connector is assigned by interface type, mating geometry and frequency range, and is available in male (pin) or female (socket) versions. Selection depends on impedance, housing clearance, and compatibility with panel, module or device-level interconnect.
What impedance options do you offer?
WellPCB supplies coax cable assemblies in 50-ohm and 75-ohm formats, depending on the application. Impedance is determined by cable geometry, dielectric type and connector standard. Each configuration is verified using sweep testing to confirm matched impedance across the required frequency range.
What’s your maximum supported frequency?
WellPCB builds coaxial assemblies rated for signals up to 40 GHz using matched-length routing, phase-stable dielectrics and high frequency connectors. Each unit is verified using sweep analysis with recorded performance across the specified bandwidth.
What shielding levels are available?
WellPCB offers single, double, triple and tube-based shielding with effectiveness rated from 40 dB to over 95 dB. Shield formats include braid, foil, or a combination of layers, depending on enclosure noise, cable route and system grounding requirements. Each build is assigned a verified configuration based on target radio frequency isolation and mechanical routing constraints.
Do your coax assemblies meet REACH and RoHS standards?
Yes, all our coax cable assemblies are manufactured using RoHS-compliant materials. Documentation can be provided upon request for insulation, jacket, and connector components used in each build.
